Chapter 3: A Broken Promise

By the time Sokka returned home following the council meeting, the sun just about converged with the horizon, painting the skies and surrounding clouds in tints of crimson and orange.

He managed to briefly visit Air Temple Island and join his pregnant sister and Aang, and their rambunctious children for dinner. The councilman requested Katara to let Lin stay the night on the island; he’d told her that a stack of papers still waited for him on his desk, and he would most likely be working well into the night to get it all done on time.

He sailed back to the mainland but from there, he didn’t take the usual route to City Hall where his office was located; this time, he headed for his own humble abode.

  • Toph:

    No, but you certainly act like it! You think it's YOUR job to boss everyone around, but it's not! You're just a regular kid like the rest of us! So, stop acting like you can tell me what to do! I can do WHATEVER I WANT!

who-lit-toph-on-fire13: I think when ever I see Tokka, Linzin, and incest in the same post I’m going to put this on there because you can ship both of them! Sokka doesn’t have to be Lin’s dad for Tokka to be canon so stop making it sound like he has to! There is a million other ways Tokka can be canon without Sokka being Lin’s dad. And even if Sokka is Lin’s dad, in those times it didn’t matter, it wasn’t considered incest.  THIS.

Avatar The Last Airbender 30-Day Challenge DAY 13: If you could make up an episode right now, what would be the title and what would it be about? “The Escapades of Toph and Sokka” The title says it all. Basically, one whole episode dedicated to Toph and Sokka’s adventures and friendship. Mostly humor, preferably some cute moments. Like in “The Runaway”, but with exclusively more Tokka.

DAY 13: If you could make up an episode right now, what would be the title and what would it be about?

“The Escapades of Toph and Sokka”

The title says it all. Basically, one whole episode dedicated to Toph and Sokka’s adventures and friendship. Mostly humor, preferably some cute moments. Like in “The Runaway”, but with exclusively more Tokka.

She looks more like her grandmother Poppy than Sokka. She looks more like Poppy than Toph, I’ll give you that. But I still think she resembles Sokka the most. The shape of her face; chin, jawline, shape of her eyes, eye brows, cheekbones, even her nose. But yes, she does resembles Poppy a lot, more than her own mother.

She looks more like Poppy than Toph, I’ll give you that. But I still think she resembles Sokka the most. The shape of her face; chin, jawline, shape of her eyes, eye brows, cheekbones, even her nose. But yes, she does resembles Poppy a lot, more than her own mother.

“Can’t happen”? Because Lin and Tenzin would be cousins? Hey, guess what:

1) in some countries, it’s not looked down on when cousins marry (sometimes it’s even encouraged to keep the bloodline ‘pure’), and Lin and Tenzin never married and didn’t have children; they merely dated, a long time ago.

2) The Avatar universe is different from ours: not based on western Christian values. Don’t impose your moral stigma onto it.

3) Young people don’t always know what they’re doing. They could just have fallen in love, not caring about the reality of things, and could have been torn apart due to the pressure their circumstances had put on their relationship. Like the fact that their families didn’t approve of their relationship. Just google it and you’ll find plenty of people asking for help online because they are in love or have a relationship with their cousin and want to know what they should do because of the repercussions their relationships might have.

4) Sokka could just have been Lin’s stepfather.

5) Lin could have been adopted (which I doubt, but still possible).

6) Toph could just not have been sure of who the father is.

And just a side note: Tenzin is 16 years older than Pema, and I don’t see anybody making a big deal about that.
